Washi Tape

I saw this done by an artist on Instagram, and I wanted to try it.

I ordered some really pretty washi tapes from eBay, and went to town, the one above is my third attempt, and I think it looks the best so far, the two below are my first two attempts.

I love this method for adding patterns, like what you’d find on clothing. I have yet to do
a final looking piece to see how it would all look finished, but with these test runs, I’d say I have a pretty good chance of a really nice effect.

I used the Slice knife to help me cut the tape into the right shapes. I did find the ballpoint pen I used did not write well over the tape, so I’m curious to see how my acrylic ink would work over it.

Don’t be surprised if you see more patterned washi tape in my pieces, it’s really easy to work with.

Girl Gang

So between myself and one of my closest friends, we came up with this as our girl gang insignia. Cat skulls and flowers.

Pencil crayons, black ink, white gel pen.

Blush

These are test runs of mixing coloured ink with coloured pencil. ¬†You’ll notice the blush gets softer with each face, which is progress. These are very 1870s Victorian ladies minus the top left, and middle right faces. I want to turn these into some holiday card/prints.

0.5 mm Black Ballpoint, 0.5 mm Pencil, Coloured pencils, Kuretake Brush pens.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

This is my favourite time of year!
I’m pleased that I finished this one, I haven’t been finishing much anything lately because I’ve been a little down. Seeing all the pumpkins and decorations on people’s houses though has perked me up a bit.

Have a Spooktacular Halloween! (Pardon my puns)

Kuretake Pens, Black ink, white ink, watercolours, glue, holographic gold glitter.

Skulls n’ Roses

A mindless doodle that turned into something more. All I remember was thinking about how dear little Pickle never shuts up.

I quite like her gold teeth. I’ll try to get a better photo/scan of this.

Pentel Brush Pen, Inkjoy Pens, Pencil Crayons and Gold Foil.

There are some process photos after the break if you’re interested.
