Draw This In Your Style

A draw this in your style that I actually remembered to draw. I’ve seen these around Instagram a lot, and always plan to join in, but forget or run out of time. So It was nice to finally participate. Her shirt turned out to be my favourite.

Below is the original by @rafaela.perasininc:

Ice Cream

Some mermaid-y ice cream for Mermay. Haven’t drawn food in a while so I’m a tad rusty, but I also haven’t had ice cream in a while so there’s that too.

Fitspo

More washi tape adventures, this time a very monochromatic palette of blush tones and pinks, with a pop of blue.

Believe it or not, the sneakers were the hardest things to draw. I can draw high heels, platforms and other unreasonable shoes with ease, but sneakers.. that requires multiple reference photos and multiple rough sketches.

Copic Markers, Kuretake Brush Pens, White Gel Pen, Pigment Liner, Washi Tape.

Scroll past the break for some of the rough work for this one.

Spring Dress

dav

A little break from the Christmas cards, as the last two still have to be flung at their intended victims.

The weather has been eerily warm here in Ontario the past week, so it had me thinking of pretty soft pastels and florals.

Washi Tape

I saw this done by an artist on Instagram, and I wanted to try it.

I ordered some really pretty washi tapes from eBay, and went to town, the one above is my third attempt, and I think it looks the best so far, the two below are my first two attempts.

I love this method for adding patterns, like what you’d find on clothing. I have yet to do
a final looking piece to see how it would all look finished, but with these test runs, I’d say I have a pretty good chance of a really nice effect.

I used the Slice knife to help me cut the tape into the right shapes. I did find the ballpoint pen I used did not write well over the tape, so I’m curious to see how my acrylic ink would work over it.

Don’t be surprised if you see more patterned washi tape in my pieces, it’s really easy to work with.
