Trying to learn how to do underpaint (is that a word?), this is about 2 different layers each sealed with a matte medium. The base layer is the ink shading, and the second is the watercolour tint. I’m still sorting how I feel about this technique, I need to try it more I think.
Ink, Watercolour and White gel pen
A quick little painting. I need to remember to mask off areas when I’m splattering paint everywhere.
Watercolours, Finetec inks.
Inspired by a tumbler I bought from Bando. Also can I just say I’m ecstatic with how well the label on this turned out. I managed to get it to look aged so well!
Watercolours, glitter glue, Brush pen, Pigment Liners.
2016 is just flying by. Like holy crap it felt like just yesterday was New Years.
I hope you all have a wonderful love day and go out to see the Deadpool movie!
Watercolor, pencil crayons and pigment liners.
I’m late, but that’s hardly surprising.
I hope that 2016 is an amazing year for all of you, and that you all achieve what you set out to.
With that being said, I’m am so damn grateful that 2015 is finally over. For me it was a terrible year, and I hope to never have to repeat it. Although it did have some great moments, like seeing my friend’s play, and wading through mud for an impromptu picnic (which I subsequently got sun burnt for the first time in my life), and other moments, I’m finally glad its done.
Here’s to great things to come!
Watercolour, Pigment liners, and glitter.
It’s getting to that time of year. You know the time when people go mental shopping. I think I can safely say it will be the first year I will not have to work in retail during Christmas. It’s going to be nice, I won’t have to put up with or grin through the dumbest questions and having a person ask me 3-4 times if I’m positive there’s nothing more in the backroom (like it’s really capable of hiding, and if it is there it’s on hold for someone who’s not you).
I’m so pleased to not have to deal with that for once.
Anyway, I posted WIP pics of the cute little plaid cards on my Instagram last night, and got a surprising response. So I decided to share them here as well. These are all 2″ x 2″ cards for the amazing people I worked with for the past 5 years, they’re also getting some homemade hand salve since it’s freaking dry as hell in that damn store.
And in the thumbnail on the right you all get a preview of me practising my handwriting fancy style skills.
When I make cards again next year, I’ll be sure to use watercolour paper, as the cardstock was a bad idea, it buckled like I knew it would, so they’re currently being flattened out under heavy books.
Anyway, I hope to have more stuff posted before 2015 ends. Stay tuned!

Little watercolour warmup. Some flamingos chilling in a tropical pond. As you can probably tell I have no idea how flamingos fly.
