Test

Trying to learn how to do underpaint ¬†(is that a word?), this is about 2 different layers each sealed with a matte medium. The base layer is the ink shading, and the second is the watercolour tint. I’m still sorting how I feel about this technique, I need to try it more I think.

Experiments

IMG_20160720_185432

This imo looks terrible. But, it was just a super quick experiment which is why the text is wonky and the planchette isn’t even. I’m still trying to learn how to use the P.H. Martin’s Bombay inks properly. I love their vibrancy, but I have to work crazy fast to get nice blending. I am fond of the background sploosh. The linework is really shaky because I had too much sugar today.

Spooked, Hearts, Ribs and Birds

2015-04-08 16.53.51w

Just some sketches while trying to draw something out of my mind. It’s not ready yet apparently. We have a spooked eyeball, cute hearts (make a cute brooch, or a tattoo), a roughly drawn ribcage missing a few ribs, and a sparrow playing what looks like basketball.

Pattern Planning

croptoppattern

This isn’t art related, unless you count drafting clothing patterns as art. Here’s a flat drawing of a crop top and capris, I’m planning on sewing sometime soon. If you can’t read my notes then it’s probably for the best, seeing as people tell me my handwriting is neat, now is your chance to prove them wrong!

I plan on making these in a tropical print (think hibiscus and plumeria flowers or palm trees, something kitschy), I’m just currently pricing the cost of fabric and supplies at this moment.

Happy Tuesday!

Snake Progress

I uploaded some thumbnails of a snake drawing a little while ago.

I’m still working on it.

I liked the positioning of thumbnail 8, from that last set of 9. So here is just testing colours, and
I think I’m going to make the branch¬†thinner, it takes up too much visual space.
