I continued my experiments with my Kuretake Brush Pens. Above, I tried blending them according to the tips on Kuretake’s website. One was painting the lighter colour over the darker colour while the ink is still wet, which left a less gradient like effect. The other was to paint the tip […]

Smoke
More doodles from 2010. Another old doodle, I’m pretty certain it was using the same “oekaki” software as the one from yesterday. The name of the software still escapes me.
Waking Up
Just posting some stuff from 2010. Done using a type f “oekaki” software, it was so long ago that I fail to remember the name of said software.

Kuretake Brush Pen Review
So I recently purchased a pack of 12 of Kuretake’s Clean Color Brush Pens. Here is a review I have done of them so far. So I first swatched all the colours to see what they looked like. They have great pigment to them, are really bright and don’t appear to bleed through the paper […]
Test 4
Another test run with painting faces in watercolours. I tried a darker skin tone this time, but it doesn’t look like it’s showing up to well on my screen. Pan watercolours, brush pen, and 0.3mm pigment liner.
Tattoo for “Z”
“Z” was a young woman who worked with us for a short time, and had asked me to design a ‘hardcore/heavy metal” pin-up girl tattoo for her. This was done about 3 years ago. “Z” asked that the pinup be wearing latex, a collar and buckle-covered boots. Paint Tool Sai.
Corpse Bride
Like a lot of people out there, I’m very fond of Tim Burton’s work. Mostly his stop animation films. Corpse Bride is one of my favourites right up next to Laika’s Paranorman. As it turns out, I can paint faces in watercolour. I just needed to be more patient. Hopefully you enjoy my fan […]
The Green Fairy
Absinthe, it’s one of my favourite alcoholic drinks. Now if only I could afford a bottle of Lucid, I’d be a very happy cat. The glass was pretty tricky, with all of it’s ridges and it’s stem. My white pen came in really handy with this one. Pentel Brush Pen, White Gel Pen, and […]
Citrus
I was a little heavy handed on the bottom lining of the glass. I like the orange slice though, and the frothy whipped cream looks pretty decent too. More pretty summer drinks. Pentel Brush Pen, White gel pen and pan watercolors.
