This was done as a “Good Luck in your new position!” card for a co-worker. It was amazing working with her these past 3 years, and I made an amazing friend in the process.
You can buy small sized prints here if you’d like!

I think this is from 2007, when I was first introduced to Adobe Illustrator.
This was loosely inspired after reading “Geisha: A Life” by Mineko Iwasaki. Mind you this is inaccurate to the actual traditions and make-up of Geishas but, I was 17 and relatively stupid when it came to other cultures.
I have 4 budgies, usually during the day they are free to fly about the living room in joyous harmony. They have a number of perches to sit on, the fig tree in the corner (eaten alive), the branch installed in front of the back door so they can watch birdies outside, and everywhere else, (including the wind chimes Pickle loves to hide behind). They basically have free range of the main floor.
One day, they were playing around the living room, they landed on their cage like this ^. I know it’s hard to tell from my super quick doodle, but it looked so much like a little conversation between Pickle (Left), Storm-born (Middle) and Cloud (Right). I have no clue why, but I was left with an idea of them humanized, in full Victorian regalia.
